Sycoindex Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Sycoindex platform, an AI safety scoring service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website, API, and related services. If you have questions, contact us at chris@sycoindex.org.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Scoring Data. When you submit AI model outputs for safety scoring, we process the prompts and responses you provide in order to generate scores.

Contact Information. If you join our waitlist, request an API key, or contact us, we collect your name and email address.

Usage Analytics. We automatically collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, API call frequency, browser type, and referring URLs to understand how our services are used and to improve them.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and maintain our AI safety scoring services, including generating scores, leaderboards, and reports.

Improve and refine our scoring algorithms, benchmarks, and evaluation methodologies.

Communicate with you about your account, API access, product updates, and respond to your inquiries.

3. Data Retention

Prompts and Responses. AI prompts and responses submitted for scoring are processed in real-time and are NOT stored on our servers after scoring is complete. We do not retain the content of your submissions.

API Keys and Waitlist Data. API keys, account credentials, and waitlist information are stored in an encrypted database (Upstash) and retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services.

Usage Logs. Aggregated usage logs and analytics data are retained for 90 days, after which they are automatically purged.

4. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share aggregated, anonymized statistics about AI safety scores and trends for research and public reporting purposes. These statistics cannot be used to identify any individual user.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sycoindex Inc., our users, or the public.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use a single functional cookie to store your dark mode preference. This cookie is strictly necessary for the operation of user-selected display settings.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

We use Vercel Analytics for basic, privacy-respecting usage analytics. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track users across sites.

6. Children's Privacy

Sycoindex is committed to compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

Our child safety scoring evaluates AI model outputs for child-appropriate content. The scoring is performed on AI-generated text, not on data collected from children. No child data is collected, stored, or processed as part of our safety evaluation pipeline.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at chris@sycoindex.org.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, and to request deletion of your personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at chris@sycoindex.org. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

8. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Our infrastructure is hosted on Vercel with enterprise-grade security practices. API keys and account data are stored in Upstash with encrypted storage at rest.

While no system is perfectly secure, we implement industry-standard measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and post the updated policy on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
